About My Photography Journey & Tips
Getting ready for a shoot can feel overwhelming, but it really shouldn't be. The biggest mistake I see parents make is over-planning their baby’s schedule around the session. If your little one isn't well-rested, no amount of props or outfits will help. My best sessions happen when parents leave the stress at home, bring snacks, and just let me do the 'Dekh idhar dekh' work to get those smiles while they relax.
A Decade Behind the Lens
It has been 10 years since I first picked up my camera at my brother's request in a local park. That simple day sparked a passion that defines my life today. Over the last decade, I have learned that a great photo is not just about the lighting or the setup—it is about the connection. Whether I am shooting a sleepy newborn in my Chembur studio or chasing a toddler during an outdoor golden hour session, my goal is always to freeze those real, messy, beautiful moments.
Preparing for Your Shoot
Many parents ask me how to ensure their child is ready. Here are the simple habits I have gathered over the years to make your photoshoot a success:
- Rest is Non-Negotiable: A tired baby will not enjoy the process, and neither will you. Try to align your booking with their nap schedule.
- Keep it Simple: Don't stress over matching every single color. Bring comfortable clothes that your kids actually enjoy wearing.
- Pack the Familiar: Bring a favorite toy, a comfort blanket, or the snacks they love. These items are lifesavers if we need a quick break.
- Let Me Lead: My job is to handle the funny noises, the songs, and the 'Dekh idhar dekh' prompts. You are here to interact, cuddle, and play. When you relax, the camera captures it.
Why the Studio Experience Matters
My Chembur studio is designed as a calm, climate-controlled space specifically for delicate shoots. We control the lighting, the temperature, and the noise levels, which is crucial for newborn and sitter sessions. This environment allows us to focus entirely on the tiny details—the eyelashes, the curling toes, and the first expressions—without the distractions of the outside world.
