Traditional Indian art is more than just decoration, it’s a way to bring stories of heritage into your space. Whether you want the earthy charm of Warli or the rhythmic balance of Mandala art, I use freehand techniques to add soul to your walls.

Here I am with a completed Warli art mural. This piece features Kamadhenu, the wish-fulfilling cow, and her calf under the shade of a tree, all rendered in the classic red and white Warli style.

A clean shot of the Kamadhenu Warli painting. The beauty of this art form is in its simplicity and the stories it can tell with just a few lines and shapes.

In this video from a school project, you can see a glimpse of a traditional Warli painting we created to teach children about rural life and culture.

About Traditional Indian Wall Art

I don't use stencils. Every line in a Warli or Mandala mural I paint is done completely freehand using premium, weather-proof exterior emulsion. This ensures the design not only looks authentic but also holds up against sun and rain, whether it is for a feature wall inside your home or a large outdoor compound wall.

My Approach to Traditional Art

When I work on traditional wall art, my goal is to keep the stories alive. The Warli style, with its simple geometric shapes—circles, triangles, and squares—is not just a design; it is a way of documenting rural life, nature, and our mythology. When I paint these on your walls, I am not just decorating a surface; I am telling a story that has been passed down for generations.

Why Freehand Matters

In a market full of stenciled designs and vinyl stickers, freehand painting offers a distinct texture and energy. You can see the human touch in the slight variations of the lines. Because I use artist-grade, weather-proof emulsion (like Asian Paints Apex), these murals are built to last.

Customization & Process

  • The Palette: For traditional Warli, I usually stick to the classic combination—a Terracotta Red background with white motifs—but I can adapt the colors to match your home’s existing decor.
  • Planning: Before I start, we discuss the narrative. Do you want scenes of farming, village life, or a focus on nature? I sketch the layout to scale first, so you know exactly how it will sit on your wall.
  • Surface: Whether it is a raw concrete surface, a finished interior wall, or a large exterior compound, I ensure the wall is prepped with the right base coat to make the colors pop and ensure longevity.

If you have a wall that feels too empty or a space that needs a bit of heritage, let’s talk about how we can fill it with something meaningful.

I'm Shivakumar, and for me, painting is a form of worship—*Kayakave Kailasa*. I started my journey sculpting clay idols as a boy, and I bring that same hands-on love to every wall I paint. I don't just finish a job; I pour my heart into the details.
