Traditional & Sacred Indian Wall Art Murals
We bring heritage into modern homes through hand-painted traditional murals. From the rhythmic lines of Kolam to detailed Pichwai and Mandalas, we create spaces that feel like home.
A beautiful pooja room we worked on, featuring Pichwai art. We painted lotuses on the wall and delicate cows on the drawers, bringing a complete traditional look to this sacred space.
We turned a simple entrance wall into a space with a traditional Ganapati vibe. This colorful mandala with a Ganesha face at its center creates a warm and auspicious welcome.
A closer look at the details of our Ganesha mandala. We love combining intricate patterns with divine forms to create art that feels both powerful and peaceful.
Kolam is a ritualistic art form from South India. We love painting these geometric patterns of lines and dots, which bring a timeless and elegant essence to any wall. This particular design on a grey wall stands out beautifully.

We created a series of Kolam designs, including full patterns and borders, to evoke a traditional vibe throughout a client's hallway. The white lines on the warm-toned walls perfectly complemented their antique wooden furniture.

About Traditional & Sacred Art
When we take on a traditional mural, especially for a pooja room or entrance, the prep is just as important as the painting. Because surfaces like pooja cabinets or textured hallway walls aren't always perfectly flat, we spend extra time on the layout to ensure the symmetry of a Mandala or the precision of a Kolam isn't lost. We often sketch the design on the wall first to see how it catches the light, especially if it is a corner piece, so you know exactly how it will transform the space.
Bringing Heritage Home
There is a special kind of calm that comes with painting traditional motifs. Whether it is the intricate, ritualistic geometry of a Kolam or the divine narratives found in Pichwai art, these styles carry a weight and a history that modern, abstract patterns sometimes miss. For many of our clients in Bangalore, this art is not just decor; it is about creating a 'Namma Mane'—a home that feels rooted and welcoming.
Our Process
- Surface & Scale: We don’t just paint on flat walls. We love taking a traditional design and wrapping it around pillars, over awkward corner bends, or even across ceiling sections. We treat every surface, whether it is a hallway wall or a pooja unit drawer, as a canvas that deserves respect.
- Precision & Patience: Mandalas and Kolams require mathematical precision. We use traditional techniques combined with modern tools to ensure every line is crisp and every dot is perfectly placed. If the wall has a texture, we adjust our brush pressure and paint viscosity to make sure the art sits beautifully without bleeding into the surface.
- Custom Narratives: A Pichwai cow or a Ganesha motif is never a 'print-and-paste' job for us. We sketch, refine, and hand-paint every detail, from the jewelry on the deity to the lotus petals in the background. If you have a specific color palette that matches your interior—perhaps a warm olive green or an earthy terracotta base—we customize the pigment tones to blend seamlessly with your furniture.
Why Choose Hand-Painted?
Wallpapers can fade or peel, but a hand-painted mural becomes part of the wall itself. It is durable, wipeable with a damp cloth, and has that organic, non-uniform finish that only comes from a human hand. Plus, we are always happy to hide those ugly fuse boxes or utility doors by integrating them into the artwork, turning an eyesore into a feature.
Mannki Art
I’m Sharanya, and I paint with my husband, Supraj. While we love experimenting, there is a specific, quiet joy in painting traditional motifs like Kolam or Pichwai. We don't just put art on walls; we try to capture that warm, grounded feeling of home, one brushstroke at a time.
