I sculpt stories directly onto your walls, creating 3D relief art that captures light, shadow, and texture in a way flat paint never could.

The completed clay mural of Kanaka Dasa, with added background color to highlight the detailed sculpture of the saint, Krishna, and the Udupi temple scene.

Another view of the finished Kanaka Dasa clay mural, showing how light and shadow play on the sculpted surfaces to create a dynamic effect.

The clay sculpture of Kanaka Dasa is complete and set against a simple painted background, showing the raw texture of the artwork before final touches.

Here is the raw, unpainted clay sculpture in progress. You can see the form taking shape as I build up layers of clay to create the figure.

Every mural starts with an idea. This is the initial chalk sketch of Kanaka Dasa, mapping out the composition before I begin the sculpting process.

About Handcrafted Clay Murals

Because these are hand-sculpted relief murals, the wall preparation is different from standard painting. We use fiber mesh reinforcement and high-grade mural clay to ensure the sculpture is physically sound, projecting 1 to 3 inches from the surface. Since every detail is sculpted by hand without using pre-made molds, the final texture you see on your wall will be unique to your home, not a factory copy.

My approach to clay mural art is rooted in traditional techniques. I believe that a wall shouldn't just be a surface for color, but a space for depth. When I take on a clay relief project, the process is quite involved:

The Process

  1. Surface Prep: We start by assessing the wall. Since relief art has weight and volume, we install fiber mesh or screw supports to anchor the clay, preventing cracks and ensuring longevity.
  2. Sculpting: I use specialized mural clay or epoxy putty, building the form layer by layer. This is where I define the projection—usually 1 to 3 inches—to get that distinct 3D shadow effect.
  3. Detailing: Once the structure is set, I hand-carve the fine details, whether it is the traditional folds of clothing in a mythological figure or the rustic textures of nature elements.
  4. Finishing: After the clay cures, we sand and refine the surface. Finally, I apply a metallic or antique finish—bronze, copper, or gold dry-brushing—which brings out the depth of the sculpture under natural light.

Durability and Maintenance

These murals are designed to last. By using reinforced materials and professional protective varnishes, the work is shielded from the elements. Whether you want a large-scale traditional temple theme or a nature-inspired design, my focus is on creating something that stays firm on the wall while adding a tactile, sophisticated feel to your interior. It is about bringing the art off the canvas and into the room.
