Bringing Drawings to Life with Oil Pastels & Color Pencils
Whether you are blending soft oil pastels or layering pencils for a realistic finish, these classes are all about relaxing and finding your flow. Beginners are always welcome.
Taksh Modi, a 1st-grade student, created this amazing artwork titled 'My Vision, My India'. It's so inspiring to see such young artists express their big ideas with so much color and imagination.

About this collection
You do not need prior experience to start here. In these sessions, we focus on the joy of layering and blending, whether you are trying to capture the soft glow of a sunset or the fine texture of a bird's feathers. We provide the guidance, you bring the curiosity, and I promise you will walk away with a piece that is uniquely yours.
Why Start Here?
Oil pastels and color pencils are the perfect mediums for anyone who wants to see immediate results without the complexity of liquid paints. If you have ever felt intimidated by art, this is where that changes. I keep the focus on the process—how to hold the pencil, how to apply pressure for shading, and how to mix colors on paper to create depth.
What We Cover in Class
- Color Pencil Mastery: We work on blending, burnishing, and layering to create realistic textures—everything from glossy food illustrations to iridescent feathers.
- Oil Pastel Fun: This is where we get a bit messy. You will learn to move past simple coloring and start creating smooth gradients and bold landscapes that pop off the page.
- Technique Focus: I teach you how to look at a subject, break it down into simple shapes, and then build the details.
The Vibe
Classes are held at my home studio in Sobha Silicon Oasis or online if you are joining from further away. It is not about perfection. It is about the 'masti' of learning and the peace that comes from focusing on your own work for an hour or two. My students range from curious kids to adults who just want a creative break after a long week. You just need to bring your basic kit, and we will take care of the rest.
