About Art for Adults & Seniors
You do not need to know how to draw a perfect line to join my classes. In my studio, we focus on the process, not just the finished result. Whether you are coming in for a two-hour trial to de-stress or enrolling in a regular foundation batch to learn texture and knife techniques, my goal is to help you find your own creative rhythm without the pressure of a rigid syllabus.
Many people think art is only for those who are naturally gifted. That is a myth I have been working to break since 1988. When you step into my Vile Parle studio, we leave perfection at the door. I believe art is a form of tapassya (devotion) and a way to reconnect with yourself, especially in our busy lives.
What We Explore Together
Whether you are picking up a pencil for the first time or returning to a childhood passion, we start wherever you are.
- Fundamental Techniques: We explore sketching with charcoal, fluid art, mandala, and traditional crafts like Lippan art.
- Canvas & Texture: I guide you through acrylic and oil painting, helping you master palette knife work and glazing.
- Personalized Pace: My regular foundation batches, with 8 sessions per month, are kept small so I can ensure you learn at a speed that feels comfortable for you.
Flexible Learning Options
I understand that adult life is busy. That is why I offer:
- Offline Sessions: A relaxing environment in JVPD where you can take a break from the world.
- Online Classes: Specifically designed for senior citizens who want to learn from the comfort of home. These sessions are incredibly heartwarming; my senior students are some of my most curious and eager learners.
