About Traditional Indian Crafts
Mandala dot art is not about achieving perfect symmetry. It is about finding a rhythm in every stroke and creating a space where you can leave your daily worries at the door. Whether we are applying the tactile Lippan mud or placing dots, I focus on helping you find a meditative flow in my Vile Parle studio that turns a craft session into a true break for your mind.
Traditional Indian crafts are more than just home decor. They are a form of dhyan (meditation) that grounds you. In my studio, we explore the intricate geometry of Mandalas and the raw, earthy beauty of Lippan art.
Lippan art, which comes from the Kutch region, is particularly special because of its texture. You work with mud and mirrors to create designs that feel alive. It is a slow, deliberate process that forces you to pause and appreciate the materials. For those interested in Mandalas, I guide you through the process of dotting, which is incredibly satisfying and relaxing.
My studio in the JVPD Scheme is designed to be a calm, air-conditioned sanctuary away from the Mumbai bustle. We keep our batches small, typically 6 to 10 students, so I can provide personal guidance to every individual. This approach works perfectly for beginners, corporate teams seeking a stress-relieving activity, or anyone who wants to rediscover their creative side without the pressure of an academic environment. You do not need any prior art experience to start here. All you need is an open mind and a willingness to play with textures, colors, and patterns.
