Intense Gasshuku Karate Training Camp
We leave the city behind for 10+ hours of rigorous training. Our annual mountain retreat is where we test our limits, refine our Kata, and grow as one family.
Training continues regardless of the weather. Here, our karateka practice their kata with precision and focus during a misty morning session, demonstrating the discipline required to perfect their form in any condition.
Practical application is key. This image shows a moment of kumite practice where students refine their timing, distance, and technique in a controlled but dynamic sparring drill, essential for developing real-world self-defense skills.
We incorporate unique strength and conditioning exercises that build functional power and endurance. This partner-carrying drill is a testament to the physical strength and trust our students develop during the camp.
About Intense Gasshuku Training
Training on a mountain is different from working out in the dojo. The ground is uneven, the air is thin, and your body reacts differently to the challenge. We trade our flat mats for natural terrain, which forces you to adjust your balance and ground your stance in ways that a gym floor never will. It is raw, demanding, and the fastest way to understand the true spirit of your technique.
The Gasshuku is not a vacation. It is a full-immersion experience designed to strip away the distractions of daily life. Over the course of three days, we dedicate over 10 hours to focused training, moving from sunrise meditation to intense conditioning drills under the open sky.
Why We Go to the Mountains
We travel from Noida to the hills, leaving the city noise behind. Training outdoors allows us to practice our Kumite (sparring) and Kata (forms) in unpredictable weather. You learn to fight and focus when you are tired, when the ground is slippery, and when the wind is against you. This is where resilience is built.
The Logistics
We keep things simple so you can focus on the karate. The trip includes:
- Travel: Round-trip shared AC coach or Tempo Traveller departing from our Sector 15A Dojo.
- Accommodation: Two nights in a mid-range guest house, on a twin or triple-sharing basis.
- Meals: Full-board, with a mix of vegetarian and non-veg options provided to keep your energy up.
Who This Is For
This retreat is exclusive to Seido Karate members. It does not matter if you are a beginner white belt or a senior black belt. We train as a family, sharing meals and the same hardships. We have a communal bonfire in the evenings, but the core of the experience remains the work we put in during the day. If you want to see how far your practice can take you, this is the time to find out.
