About Montessori Sports: A Modern Approach

This program is not about outsourcing physical education to external coaches or adding more classes to the timetable. We train your existing classroom guides to set up sports-based activities that children can engage with independently, using the same principles of the prepared environment you already rely on for literacy and math.

Our collaboration with Montessori Sports, Netherlands, brings a structured approach to physical literacy that fits directly into the Montessori pedagogy. While many associate the method primarily with classroom materials, Dr. Maria Montessori placed immense value on the physical unfolding of the child. This course bridges the gap between traditional PE and child-centered development.

Why This Approach Works

  • Seamless Integration: You do not need to hire specialized sports staff. We provide your current teaching team with the observation skills and planning tools to facilitate movement as a natural extension of the work cycle.
  • Prepared Environment: Just as you arrange shelves for practical life or geography, we teach you how to create a prepared environment for sports. This ensures children can access materials, practice skills, and self-correct their movements without constant adult intervention.
  • Holistic Development: The curriculum shifts the focus from competitive performance to the development of coordination, balance, and purposeful interaction. It helps address common challenges like short attention spans and restlessness by giving the body the movement it requires to focus.

Course Structure

This is a blended, AMI-accredited program designed for busy educators and school leaders. It includes self-paced theory modules, live interactive sessions with Dutch faculty, and mandatory onsite practical training in Bangalore. You will walk away with a deep understanding of how to plan, observe, and assess gross motor development across the different planes of child development, from age 0 to 18.

With over 40 years in education, we believe the child is their own teacher, and movement is simply the language they use to explore their world. Our collaboration with Montessori Sports ensures that this physical journey is as intentional and structured as every other part of our Montessori curriculum.
