About this collection
When you see our sports days, you won't find traditional competitive pressure. Instead, we use obstacle courses, balance beams, and relay races to teach gross motor skills, patience, and how to follow multi-step directions. It is about the child's own progress, learning to balance, wait for their turn, and coordinate their movements with a sense of accomplishment.
Movement as a Montessori Tool
In a Montessori environment, movement is not separate from learning. We view the physical development of a child as essential to their mental and emotional growth. When a toddler learns to navigate a climbing structure or balances on a beam, they are actually building the concentration and confidence they will later need for writing, math, and problem-solving.
Our Approach to Active Play
We move away from rigid, forced athletics. Instead, our activities focus on:
- Gross Motor Coordination: Exercises like pouring water, balancing objects on heads, and navigating indoor obstacle courses help children understand their bodies.
- Practical Life Skills: Even in sports, we emphasize Grace and Courtesy. Children learn to cheer for friends, wait patiently for their turn, and set up equipment safely.
- Outdoor Exploration: With 6,000 sq ft of outdoor space in our Basavanagudi campus, children have room to run, jump, and explore nature, which is vital for their physical and mental well-being.
Learning Beyond the Campus
We believe in exposing children to new environments. Our field trips, such as our excursions to Discovery Village, are carefully planned to let children explore textures, natural environments, and bigger physical challenges in a safe way. These experiences help children adapt to new surroundings, build social bonds with their peers, and develop a sense of adventure that stays with them long after the school day ends.
Chimes Montessori
We believe school should feel like a second home, where children aren’t rushed, but respected. Our team is fully Montessori-trained and dedicated to protecting the natural spark of curiosity in every child, whether they are in the classroom or out on the field.
