About The Building Blocks: Plants & Preparation
A beautiful garden is 20% plants and 80% what you do before planting. I do not believe in shortcuts. Before we lay a single roll of grass or plant a hedge, we fix the soil drainage, clear the debris, and apply the right manure. If you skip the groundwork, your plants will not survive the season.
We start at zero. For any site, be it a corporate park in Gurgaon or a private farmhouse, the first step is land clearing. We use machinery to level the ground to ensure perfect drainage. Without this, water logs and roots rot. We apply a 3-inch layer of soil enriched with vermicompost and cow dung manure. Then, we spray anti-termite treatment before laying any turf. Whether we are installing Mexican grass or planting ornamental palms, the base has to be solid. I personally oversee this because once the garden is done, it should stay green for years, not weeks. We bring in healthy, mature plants from our nursery to ensure immediate coverage and long-term survival. This is what we call groundwork, and it is the only way to get a garden that truly thrives.
