Hindi Calligraphy and Devanagari Script Classes

About Devanagari & Hindi Calligraphy
The biggest hurdle most students face with Devanagari calligraphy isn't the curves—it's the shirorekha, that horizontal top line that gives Hindi script its structure. In my classes, we focus specifically on holding the chisel marker at a precise 45-degree angle to get that line consistent and sharp, which instantly makes your handwriting look clean and professional.
Beyond the Basics
My approach to Devanagari script is grounded in anatomy, not just imitation. Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your writing, we break the process down into manageable steps:
- Script Fundamentals: We start with the basics of letter formation and proper pen pressure. Understanding the specific angles required for Hindi letters ensures your work is structurally sound.
- Tool Mastery: You will learn how to handle chisel markers and cut-nib pens effectively. Mastering your tools is half the battle in calligraphy.
- Composition & Mantra Writing: Once you are comfortable with the alphabet, we move to advanced composition. This includes writing complex joint letters (jodakshar) and creating beautiful, spiritual mantra compositions that you can frame or gift.
