Cursive & Handwriting Improvement Classes
Good handwriting builds focus and confidence. My classes offer step-by-step guidance to develop clear, neat cursive writing for children and adults through gentle practice.
Clear and beautiful handwriting starts with well-formed letters. This short video shows a practice session for the English cursive alphabet, focusing on the correct strokes and connections from A to Z.
This is a glimpse into our learning sessions. You can see a student focused on their work, practicing cursive handwriting in their notebook to improve neatness and flow.
Mastering the basics is key. This video demonstrates the fundamental letter formation for the Hindi alphabet, 'क ख ग', using bold markers. This is the starting point for improving Hindi handwriting.
About Cursive & Handwriting Improvement
Most students struggle with handwriting because of their tripod grip or how they hold the pen. In my sessions, we fix how you sit and hold the pen first—if that basic posture is wrong, no amount of practice will make writing neat. We work on 15-minute daily drills to build muscle memory before we focus on speed or style.
My Approach to Handwriting
I do not believe in boring lectures or punishment. Handwriting is a motor skill, and like any other skill, it needs consistency, not pressure. Whether we are practicing on 4-line notebooks or standard ruled paper, the goal is to make the process enjoyable so that neat writing becomes a natural habit rather than a chore.
What We Cover
- Grip and Posture Correction: I analyze how you hold the pen. A tense grip leads to fatigue, while a proper tripod grip allows for fluid movement. We address this from day one.
- Stroke and Connection Practice: Cursive is about the connection between letters. We break down the standard alphabet to ensure every 'a' through 'z' has the correct slant and height.
- Legibility Drills: We focus on spacing and alignment. If your letters are floating or cramped, we use simple line-based exercises to ground them.
- Hindi/Devanagari Script: For those interested, I also teach the anatomy of Hindi letters, focusing on the Shirorekha (top line) and specific angles for the Varnamala.
Join Our Classes
My studio is in Pitampura, Delhi, but I teach students from across the region via online sessions. I keep groups small to ensure I can provide individual feedback on every stroke. If you want to see if this method works for you or your child, I always recommend starting with a demo class. It gives us a chance to see where you are and how we can get you to write with confidence.
