Featured Documentary and Street Photography
I don't just click photos; I freeze moments. This collection is a look at the raw, unfiltered stories I’ve found while traveling across India—from the busy streets of Mumbai to quiet village corners.
A moment of pure joy captured in the heart of Dharavi's potter's colony. This portrait is part of a larger series documenting the vibrant life and spirit of the people in this community.
The pure energy of a village summer, frozen in time. This shot from my "Childhood Summers" series captures the simple, uninhibited happiness of kids playing near a handpump in rural Maharashtra.
A dramatic mid-air leap during a hunt on the streets of Mumbai. Capturing this kind of urban wildlife encounter requires patience and quick reflexes, telling a story of survival against a vivid red backdrop.
A serene evening at Phewa Lake, Nepal, where dozens of colorful boats rest on the calm water. This travel photograph captures the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful light of the landscape just before sunset.
An old, decaying door with a beautifully carved blue frame, discovered in a small village. This image is from my project "The Doors of Maharashtra," where I explore how these structures tell stories of time and history.
A herdsman guides his cattle down a wet road during a downpour in the Maharashtra countryside. This documentary photograph captures the quiet, atmospheric reality of life during the monsoon season.
A lone traveler silhouetted against the setting sun at the Gateway of India in Mumbai. I aimed to capture a different, more personal perspective of this iconic landmark, focusing on the journey rather than the destination.
Stripped to black and white, the boats on the lake create a timeless, graphic scene. This monochrome photograph emphasizes the shapes, reflections, and quiet mood of the waterscape.
A traveler reaches towards the sky from within a rock cave in Hampi. This shot uses silhouette and natural framing to convey a sense of scale, wonder, and adventure in a historic landscape.
Finding patterns in the chaos of the city. This image transforms ordinary pigeons on electrical wires into a graphic composition against the sky, like a necklace for the clouds.
About Featured
I don't do studio setups or artificial lighting. When you book a session with me, we go on location—whether it’s a bustling market or a quiet lane—and document exactly what’s happening. My approach is entirely candid, so I won’t ask you to pose or hold a smile; I am just there to catch the real energy of the day.
My philosophy is simple: reality is more interesting than anything I could stage. Whether I am documenting the vibrant chaos of Dharavi’s potter’s colony or the serene quiet of a Maharashtra monsoon, my focus is always on the in-between moments that most people walk past.
How I Work
I prefer to shadow my subjects rather than lead them. This documentary style is perfect if you are looking for high-contrast, authentic images rather than polished, retouched portraits. I use whatever gear I have on me, from my Nikon to my phone, because the story matters more than the equipment.
What You Get
For my documentary sessions, you can expect 30 to 40 high-resolution images delivered within a week. I handle the grading to bring out the depth and mood, but the moments—those are all yours. You get files ready for print and web-optimized versions for your socials, making it easy to share your story without any extra work.
If you want photos that look like life actually feels—messy, beautiful, and real—let’s talk. I am based in Mumbai but I am always ready to travel for a good story.
Sanket Khuntale
I'm Sanket, and I chase moments, not just pictures. I’m a Mumbai-based photographer constantly looking for that little bit of magic in the mundane, whether I’m shooting with my Nikon or just my phone.
