About Newborn Portraits: The First Few Days
My newborn sessions are designed to be entirely stress-free, spanning 3 to 4 hours to accommodate feeding, burping, and soothing breaks. We never force a pose. The baby’s comfort and natural rhythm guide the entire shoot, ensuring that both you and your little one feel calm and cared for throughout.
The best time to capture these portraits is within the first 15 days of life, when babies are naturally sleepy and still curled in those womb-like positions.
Why the Studio Environment Matters
My HSR Layout studio is built specifically for newborns. It is temperature-controlled, sanitized, and uses soft white noise to mimic the comfort of the womb. You do not need to worry about bringing anything extra. I provide all the high-quality mohair wraps, bonnets, tiny rompers, and textured backdrops. Whether you prefer a soft, floral setup or a classic, clean look, all the props are sanitized and ready for use.
Your Role in the Session
These sessions are about your story. While I focus on the baby, I always include one dedicated setup for family portraits. It is a chance for parents and siblings to capture that initial, intense bond.
The Process
Safety is the absolute priority. I use certified posing techniques that support the baby’s neck and joints at all times. If the baby is unsettled, we pause. There is never any rush. My goal is to capture those tiny toes, sleepy smiles, and delicate features while you relax in our comfortable seating area. You will receive a private gallery of professionally retouched images that celebrate this magical, fleeting chapter of your family life.
