Newborn Photography: Capturing Your Baby’s First Days
The first 20 days fly by in a blur. I help you pause time with safe, gentle, and cozy newborn photography sessions in my Sahakarnagar studio or right at your hospital.

This 5-day-old baby boy was a perfect model. The first few days are ideal for capturing these incredibly peaceful and curled-up poses.

A close-up of a sleeping newborn in a cozy blue knit outfit. The texture of the fabric and the soft fur create a warm and comforting setting for the baby.
The classic "chin on hands" pose is a favorite for a reason. It perfectly shows off the baby's sweet, round cheeks and peaceful expression.
A wider shot of this sleepy newborn, showing the rustic, book-themed backdrop. This adds a story-like quality to the portrait without distracting from the baby.
About this collection
You have a tiny window, usually within the first 15 to 20 days, to capture that classic, sleepy, curled-up look. Aside from safety, which is always my number one priority, the biggest choice you will make is whether you want a quick 'Just Born' hospital session immediately after delivery or a full, relaxed studio setup in Sahakarnagar. Both options use sterilized props and gentle handling, so you can just focus on your little one while I manage the details.
The 'Newborn' phase is incredibly short, which is why parents often feel the pressure to get it right. From my experience with over 3,000 babies, I’ve learned that every child is unique—some are deep sleepers, while others need a bit more coaxing.
Why the first 20 days matter
During these early days, babies are still used to the fetal position. They are generally sleepier and more flexible, which allows us to create those iconic, peaceful poses without causing them any discomfort.
Hospital vs. Studio Sessions
- Just Born Hospital Sessions: These are 45-minute, high-efficiency shoots. If you are in a hospital in North Bangalore, I can come to you. These are perfect for documenting those first 48 hours of life without the stress of traveling with a newborn.
- Signature Studio Sessions: Held at my Sahakarnagar studio, these are longer (2-3 hours) to allow plenty of time for feeding, changing, and settling. We use elaborate, customized themes like Little Krishna, a tiny chef, or floral setups. The temperature-controlled environment ensures your baby stays comfortable throughout.
Safety First
This is not just about props; it is about proper handling. I never rush a session. Whether we are doing a wrapped setup or a delicate pose, I prioritize baby safety above everything else. We use sanitized wraps, bonnets, and soft knit outfits. If you have a specific idea or a traditional theme in mind, just let me know—I love bringing creative concepts to life. You don’t need to worry about the logistics; I bring everything needed to the shoot.
