About Our Playground: The Agility Course at 'The Run'
Before we even look at a hurdle, we focus on making the equipment feel like a playground rather than a classroom. We adjust the weave poles and tunnels to fit your dog's size and confidence level, because it is not about perfect scores—it is about making sure your dog feels safe and excited to try something new every time they step on the field.
Why We Do Agility This Way
Agility isn't just about jumping over bars. At our setup in 'The Run', Yelahanka, it is about body awareness and communication. Whether your dog is a high-energy adult or a curious puppy, we customize the session to match their pace. We don't believe in forcing dogs onto equipment. Instead, we use treats, toys, and positive reinforcement to encourage them to explore tunnels, balance on the dog walk, or navigate weave poles.
How The Sessions Work
- 1-on-1 Attention: These are private sessions, meaning no distractions from other dogs. It is just you, your dog, and me.
- Customized Obstacles: For adults (12 months+), we use full-height gear, including A-frames and jumps, to build coordination. For puppies (10 weeks+), we focus on ground-level foundation work to protect their joints.
- The Setting: Our 3200 sq ft fenced lawn provides a secure space where your dog can go off-leash safely. It allows them to focus on the game and on you, rather than worrying about the surroundings.
Practical Tips for Owners
If you are planning to sign up, check with your vet first to make sure your dog is physically ready, especially for the jumps. On the day of your session, bring their favorite high-value treats and a toy they love. This helps keep them motivated. Most importantly, bring a patient mindset. Some dogs take to the tunnel immediately, while others need a few minutes to sniff it out. That is perfectly fine. We are here to build their confidence, not check a box.
