When working with velvet, the primary goal is balance. Because the fabric itself is luxurious and dense, we focus on designs that celebrate its deep jewel tones—sapphire blue, emerald green, and maroon—without overwhelming the wearer.

The Craft Behind Our Velvet Blouses

Our design process starts with the base. We source premium micro velvet to ensure a consistent, non-reflective pile that takes to metallic embroidery beautifully. For the embellishments, we stick to traditional techniques like Zardosi and Aari. These metallic wires, when worked over velvet, create a distinct three-dimensional texture that reflects light differently than beadwork on silk or georgette.

Styling and Pairing

A common misconception is that velvet is only for winter weddings. In reality, a well-cut velvet blouse is a timeless partner for a Kanjeevaram or Mysore silk saree. The contrast between the matte, plush finish of the velvet and the sheen of the silk creates an immediate visual depth.
