About Power Kicking & Pad Work
We do not just kick the air. In these sessions, we use heavy shields and paddle targets to simulate real combat resistance. You will learn to control your hip rotation and snap your kicks with the exact force and accuracy needed to score points in a match, rather than just mimicking a form.
Pad work is the bridge between technique and combat. While forms are essential for basics, these sessions focus on what you actually face in the ring. I prioritize 'Kyorugi' (sparring) preparation because that is where the real evaluation happens.
Why This Training Matters
- Impact Development: You will learn to hit with intention. Repeated drills on paddle targets sharpen your precision, while heavy shields build the muscle memory required for full-contact impact.
- Reaction & Timing: Taekwondo is a game of split-second decisions. Our reaction drills force you to respond to the pad holder's movement, developing the agility to counter-attack before your opponent resets.
- Technical Refinement: Whether you are working on the roundhouse or more complex axe kicks, these sessions isolate your movement. I watch your footwork and hip angle, correcting small errors before they become bad habits.
The Progression Path
We cater to all levels, from students just learning to balance on one leg to elite competitors preparing for district and state championships. If you are serious about competitive Taekwondo, this is the environment where you will build the stamina and explosive power required to stay on the mat. We keep the groups focused and the intensity high, so come ready to work.
