Stop Chasing Fake Cricket Speed: Real Skills Advice

Stop chasing fake speed numbers and 150 kph dreams if you haven't mastered your basics. I am here to tell you exactly where you stand and what actually makes a thinking cricketer.

Some coaches are selling an 'Alto to Ferrari' dream. Can you turn an Alto into a Ferrari? Are you crazy? The difference is the engine, the genetics. I'm here to tell you the truth: a fast bowler is born, not made. Stop falling for these glamorous lies.

A porter lifts weights, and so does an Olympic weightlifter. The difference is skill. If you want to be a fast bowler, you either bowl 160 kph or you work on your skill to get to the peak. This in-between 135-40 kph obsession will get you nowhere.

When I say a 150 kph bowler is born, it doesn't mean he rolls out of bed and bowls that fast. It means the genetic potential is there. You can't create it with hard work if it doesn't exist. Stop being donkeys and use your brain.

To the coach who thinks he can make anyone a 150 kph bowler without the right genetics, I have a new challenge for you. Teach your players to fly. They have the passion, they'll learn. Don't tell me they don't have wings.

Good diet and supplements can improve performance, but only genetics can make you top-notch. If good food and training made you the best, only rich kids would be athletes. The X-factor is, and always will be, genetics.

The truth about increasing your pace by 20 kph. Going from 105 to 125-130 kph is normal with age and basic training. But it doesn't mean you can add another 25 kph to hit 150. That requires genetics. Don't believe the hype.

A coach said some players come to him to become 140 kph bowlers, not 160. But you use the same drills for everyone. So what's the difference? It's genetics, my friend. The gap between 140 and 160 is genetics, not just effort.

Let's be sensible. Can a kid without fast-twitch muscle fibers bowl at 150-160 kph? Hard work is for later. First, the foundation must be there. You can't work hard in the wrong direction and expect results.

Even if a child is biologically gifted with fast-twitch fibers, what are the chances he will reach peak performance in sports? What percentage guarantee is there? Talent is just the start, not the finish line.

These coaches who say 'we'll teach you how to land the ball later' are fooling you. Learning to hit the 'tappa' is the hardest and most important skill. Even Jasprit Bumrah wins us matches with his accuracy, not just his pace.

About Sach Ka Saamna: No-Nonsense Cricket Advice

Most coaches will sell you a 160 kph dream because that is what sells. But if you cannot land the ball on the 'tappa' consistently, you are useless to any team, regardless of your speed. Stop looking for hacks to add 10 kph and start building the accuracy that actually wins matches.

The Hard Truth About Fast Bowling

I have seen too many players destroy their careers because they were chasing speed numbers they weren't born to hit. Increasing your pace from 105 to 125 kph is standard progression with growth and technique correction. Adding another 25 kph to hit 150? That requires specific fast-twitch muscle genetics, not a secret workout routine or a fancy speed gun.

Why 'Tappa' Matters More Than Speed

If you want to play at the district or state level, nobody cares if you bowl 135 kph while spraying the ball all over the place. Accuracy is your currency.

  • Focus on Line and Length: A bowler who hits the 'tappa' repeatedly creates pressure. Even the fastest bowlers in the world get hit for runs if they miss their spots.
  • Skill Over Raw Attributes: Biomechanics, grip, wrist position, and game awareness are things you can actually learn. Speed is secondary to being a complete bowler who can adapt to Indian pitches.

Don't Fall for the 'Alto to Ferrari' Trap

You are training to become a cricketer, not a science experiment. Stop falling for academies that promise to turn everyone into a 150 kph star. We focus on:

  1. Technical Foundation: Batting footwork and bowling biomechanics tailored to your body.
  2. Mental Toughness: Learning to handle match pressure and understanding that failure is part of the game.
  3. Practical Development: We use real balls, real simulations, and real feedback. If you are looking for shortcuts or hype, this is not the place for you. If you want an honest assessment of your game and hard work, let's get to the nets.
