The Grind: My Coaching Philosophy

Cricket isn't just about technique. It is mental warfare. Here is the no-nonsense reality of what it takes to stop dreaming and start doing.

When you fail a selection, you have two choices: give up or work harder. My student here knows the answer. This moment shows the pain of failure, but also the resolve to come back stronger.

While you rest, someone else is getting stronger. This is the reality of competitive cricket. The grind never stops.

Everyone has an inspiration. Mine was a boy with big dreams and no support, who chose hard work over excuses. I share my personal story to show that your background doesn't define you, your mehnat does.

A student asked me how to stop overthinking. I told him he is blessed to have the time to overthink. Channel that extra energy into meaningful work. If you don't know how, come to me.

I share a story about a student who was misled by social media promises of "get fast in 20 days". Your journey is unique. You must trust your coach and your specific process, not random videos online.

Everyone asks for the secret to bowling fast. It's not a secret. It is lagataar abhyaas, or consistent practice. No days off. This is the only way.

A player's first big victory is not playing for India, it's when his coach waives his fees because of his hard work, not his poverty. I explain why your mehnat should be so impressive that people want to support you.

Money, political power, or connections cannot get you an India cap. I share a story of meeting a high-profile person who confirmed this. The only thing in your control is your performance. Focus on that.

Why did you choose fast bowling? It's a tough path with less money and fame than batting. If your 'why' is not clear, you will quit. I force you to ask this tough question because a clear purpose is the fuel for the long journey ahead.

A motivated man is strong, but a disciplined man is unstoppable. Motivation fades, but discipline is what gets you on the field every single day, especially when you don't feel like it.

About The Grind: My Coaching Philosophy

Real improvement starts when you stop making excuses. I run "No-Out" net sessions where the game ends immediately if you lose your wicket. This forces you to value your time at the crease, not just hit reckless shots. You learn the real difference between mindless practice and playing under pressure.
