Mastering the Mental Game and Cricket Strategy
Stop chasing quick T20 wins and start building a real career. I break down the mindset and technical strategies you need to master long-format cricket right here in Noida.
My advice to all serious cricketers. To build a long career, you must play long-format matches like 40-over, 50-over, or days cricket. T20 will not build your temperament.
This is the start of my series on cricket development. I believe in breaking down the game into simple parts so you can build your skills step by step.
Holding the cricket ball correctly is the first step. Here I am, at the World XI Cricket Academy in Noida, ready to share more tips on bowling.
A quick look at what we teach: the mind game, the perfect straight drive, open net practice, and celebrating our players' selection as net bowlers for Delhi Capitals.
About Coach's Corner: Mindset & Strategy
If you want to play at the next level, you need to understand that talent alone is not enough, as temperament is what separates the average player from the elite. I do not care if you can hit sixes in the nets, I care if you can hold your nerve during a 50-over chase or bowl a tight spell when the pressure is on. My job is not to make you a star in two days, it is to fix the biomechanics in your stance and the mental gaps in your game so you are ready when the real selectors come knocking.
Why Your T20 Obsession is Hurting You
Most youngsters come to me wanting to learn how to hit like a T20 superstar. That is a trap. If you want to make it to the professional level, you need to master the art of building an innings. We focus heavily on 40-over and 50-over matches at our Noida facility because that is where your technique actually gets tested.
The Technical Breakdown
My coaching is not about standing around and bowling. We use video analysis to look at your biomechanics. Whether it is your backlift alignment, your head position while playing a straight drive, or your release point as a bowler, we strip it down to the basics. You cannot hide flaws in a 50-over game; the game will expose you, and that is exactly why we train the way we do.
Mental Toughness and Match Strategy
Cricket is 70 percent mental. I teach my students how to read the batsman, how to set a field, and how to stay calm when the run rate climbs. It is about understanding the game, not just swinging the bat.
Train with Purpose
- Real Match Practice: We provide four turf wickets and floodlights for evening sessions. You are not just training; you are preparing for real match scenarios.
- Professional Exposure: We bridge the gap between training and selection. From getting spotted for Delhi Capitals net bowling to learning from legends like Munaf like Munaf Patel, we create the pathway.
- Biometric Feedback: Every session provides actionable data. You leave the ground knowing exactly what you did wrong and how to fix it in the next net session.
Stop looking for shortcuts. If you are serious about becoming a professional cricketer, bring your boots and your dedication to our academy. The work starts on the pitch.
