About Your First Ride: Beginner & Foundation Lessons

We start every new rider on a lunge line to ensure total control while you focus on your posture and balance. You aren't just jumping into a saddle; our instructors teach you how to approach, groom, and connect with your schoolmaster horse first. This safety-first approach keeps you steady while you learn the mechanics of walk-to-trot transitions.

Whether you are six or sixty, our academy on Sarjapur Road focuses on foundational discipline. We do not believe in casual riding. You will start with the basics of safety—learning how to approach the animal, mount correctly, and hold your reins.

We utilize 'Schoolmaster' horses for all beginners. These are older, calm, and predictable companions that allow you to learn without the anxiety of a flighty animal. Our methodology centers on the lunge line. By having the trainer control the horse's gait, you are free to focus entirely on your core engagement, keeping your back straight and heels down.

Once you master the walk, we introduce the rising trot. This is the hardest rhythm for a beginner to grasp, but we break it down into manageable segments. You will learn to feel the horse's movement, not just sit on it.

Beyond the saddle, every student spends time in the stables. We require you to learn how to brush and tack your horse. This connection transforms you from a casual visitor into a true rider. Our 10-session foundation course is structured to take you from a total novice to independent trotting. We measure success by your control and your horse's comfort, not by how fast you go.
