True Horsemanship and Horse Care Lessons in Bangalore
Real riding starts before you mount. Learn the art of grooming, tacking, and horse behavior at our Sarjapur Road stables.
A look back at some of the moments that define our year. From grooming to celebrating, it's the connection with our horses and community that makes it all worthwhile.
We are proud of our students like Mayuki, who learned not just to ride but also to care for her horse, including tasks like cleaning hooves. We wish her the best on her new journey abroad.
Ever wonder why horses roll in the sand? It helps them scratch itches, regulate body temperature, and relax their muscles. Understanding these behaviors is part of becoming a complete horseman.
Watch our young 8-year-old rider, Shiven, learning to clip the lead on a horse. We teach our students to be confident and capable in all aspects of horse handling, not just riding.
Our academy is built on a foundation of immense love for our horses. They are our partners and teachers, and we welcome everyone to come and experience this special bond.
About True Horsemanship: Beyond the Saddle
At our academy, you don't just hop on a horse and ride. Before you ever get in the saddle, you will learn to groom, brush, and tack your horse. This is a mandatory part of our routine because understanding how a horse thinks—and how they itch, relax, or react—is the only way to build the real trust needed for safe, controlled riding.
The Army Approach to Horsemanship
I spent 30 years in the army, and I brought that same discipline to my stables here in Sarjapur Road. When I say we don't do timepass, I mean it. Horse riding is not just about sitting on an animal; it is about communication. If you cannot understand your horse on the ground, you will not be able to command them in the arena.
Why Groundwork Matters
Every session includes dedicated time for the essentials. You will learn to:
- Groom correctly: Brushing is more than cleaning; it is how you bond.
- Handle equipment: You will learn to fit the saddle and bridle, ensuring the horse is comfortable before you even put a foot in the stirrup.
- Read body language: We teach you to spot the signs of relaxation or stress so you can react before things go wrong.
Safety Through Understanding
Our 'schoolmaster' horses are calm and well-fed, but they still require respect. By focusing on these groundwork skills, our students—from 8-year-olds learning to clip a lead rope to adults training for competitions—develop a deeper confidence. This isn't just about looking like a rider; it is about becoming one. When you can safely handle a horse from the ground, the transition to the saddle becomes instinctive and fluid. Come down to our facility to see this process in action; we are right here in the heart of Bangalore's riding community.
Royal Equestrian Academy
I am Subedar Suresh, and after 30 years of army service, I brought my discipline to Royal Equestrian Academy. We do not beat around the bush here; I will teach you to respect the horse, and in return, you will learn how to ride with true confidence.
