When I work on an acapella track, the magic happens in the layering. It is not just about stacking voices, but treating each vocal line—bass, percussion, harmony, and lead—like an instrument. You get that rich, full-bodied sound that feels complete on its own, without needing a single traditional instrument in the mix.

Building an acapella arrangement is a puzzle I love solving. Whether it is reviving a patriotic anthem like 'Kayou Sri Gowri' with my band, Advaitha, or crafting a custom vocal piece for a project, the goal is to find the distinct texture in every voice.
My Studio Process
In my Bengaluru studio, we start by tracking the foundational rhythm. Even without drums, the human voice can mimic a mridangam or a snare drum through precise konnakol techniques. Once the rhythmic base is solid, we layer the harmonies. I personally supervise every vocal take, ensuring the pitch and diction are spot on. Because I use modern production gear, I can manipulate these raw recordings to create harmonies that sound lush and expansive.
