I don’t use traditional, boring drills for the little ones. Instead, I use storytelling and physical movement to teach rhythm, which helps toddlers and children with special needs build confidence and focus without feeling pressured.

Music is a sensory experience. For my youngest students, starting from 9 months, it is about listening, moving, and connecting with sounds. I keep the environment judgment-free because, at this age, exploration is the only goal. We use instruments like keyboards, djembe, and harmonium, but the focus is entirely on the 'feel' of the music rather than reading complex notes.

For children with special needs, I tailor sessions to be one-on-one, using piano and drumming to assist with emotional expression and sensory development. It is a slow, patient process where we go at the child's pace. Parents often ask if their child is too young, and my answer is always the same: if they can clap, they can make music.

My studio in Ghatkopar West is acoustically treated and safe, providing a calm space for these sessions. Whether it is prepping for a school performance or simply building early-year social skills, we focus on the process, not just the result.
