Masterpieces Reimagined: Custom Hand-Painted Sneaker Art
I take timeless works of art and give them a new canvas on your footwear. From Van Gogh's brushstrokes to classic couture prints, I hand-paint masterpieces you can actually wear.
A close-up of the toe box of the "Starry Night" custom Nike AF1s. I paid close attention to replicating Van Gogh's unique, thick brushstrokes to give the design texture and movement.
This is my take on a hypothetical Dior and Nike collaboration. I hand-painted the iconic Dior Toile de Jouy animal print in a beautiful blue onto the panels of these classic white Air Force 1s.
A detail shot of the "Starry Night" swoosh. I love how the patchwork design of the Billie Eilish edition AF1s breaks up the painting into interesting geometric shapes.
Reading "Shoe Dog" by Nike's founder, Phil Knight, with my custom Dior-inspired Nikes. It feels like the perfect combination of sneaker history and high-fashion art.
Another look at the custom Dior print AF1s. The intricate, hand-painted animal and jungle scene gives the sneakers a touch of elegance and sophistication.
A side view of the Dior-inspired custom sneakers. The deep blue paint stands out beautifully against the crisp white leather of the Air Force 1s.
About this collection
Before I pick up a brush, we lock in your vision. You send me your sneakers, I create a digital mock-up, and we tweak the design together until you are happy with the placement. Only once we have that approval do I start the layer-by-layer painting process using professional-grade Angelus leather paints, ensuring your art is waterproof and ready to wear.
My process is all about bridging the gap between high art and streetwear. When you want a pair of sneakers that look like a classic painting, I don't just copy an image. I break down the composition to fit the geometry of your shoe, whether it's a Nike Air Force 1 or a Jordan silhouette.
I use Angelus leather paints because they are the industry standard for durability and flexibility. This is not surface-level work that peels off after one wear. Each pair gets a thorough prep process to remove factory finishes, followed by multiple layers of paint and a final industrial-grade water and stain repellent coating. This ensures that the intricate details—like the swirls of 'Starry Night' or the delicate lines of a Dior-inspired print—stay vibrant and chip-proof.
Since this involves deep work and fine detailing, the process typically takes 2 to 3 weeks. You provide the base sneakers—new is always best for longevity—and I handle the rest. Whether you want a replica of a museum masterpiece or a custom pattern inspired by luxury textiles, I can translate almost anything onto leather. If you have a specific vision, let's chat about how we can make it work on your favorite pair.
