Behind the Scenes of Professional Fashion Styling
Step into my creative world where mood boards turn into reality. See how I handle the planning and nitty-gritty of shoot days.
This is my happy place, surrounded by clothes and ideas. Here I am at my desk, working on a mood board and concept for an upcoming shoot, with racks of wardrobe options ready to go.
About On Set: A Look Behind The Scenes
Many people assume styling is just about picking out clothes, but it is actually about the prep work. Whether it is a commercial campaign or a personal event, my job is to handle the logistics—steaming garments, pinning, and managing the fit on set—so you can focus on the camera.
When you look at a final photograph, you are seeing the result of hours of behind-the-scenes effort. My process starts with a vibe check to understand your story. For commercial projects, I move into concept development, creating mood boards and color palettes that define the visual direction of the shoot.
Once the concept is locked, I handle the garment sourcing. I procure pieces from designers, high-street brands, and accessory labels. On set, I am fully hands-on. I manage up to 4 look changes per shift, ensuring the fit is perfect using professional techniques like tucking and taping. If I am in what I call 'full Chintu mode', it means I am deep into the details, ensuring every shot aligns with the original vision.
My commercial styling rates start at ₹18000 for an 8-hour shift, which includes a junior assistant to help with racking and inventory. If you are looking for personal event styling, I offer packages from ₹7500 per look, where I provide style analysis and coordinate custom outfits. My goal is to make the entire experience stress-free, whether we are shooting in Mumbai or traveling on location for a brand campaign.
