Cake smashes are supposed to be messy, and that's exactly where the magic happens. Whether your little one dives right into the frosting or needs a bit of coaxing, I'm right there with my camera to catch every hilarious expression. It’s not just about the cake; it’s about the full experience—from the first tentative touch to the bubbly splash-tub cleanup afterward.
How We Make It Happen
Every birthday milestone session is designed to be as stress-free for parents as it is fun for the baby. I handle the backdrops, props, and lighting in my Chembur studio, while you just focus on bringing the cake and your little one.
The Session Flow
- Portraits First: We start with clean, classic portraits before the mess begins. This ensures you have a few timeless photos of your child's birthday outfit and big smile.
- The Cake Smash: This is the main event. I use props like wooden letters, balloons, and theme-specific decor (think astronauts, mermaids, or rustic boho) to match your vision.
- Splash-Tub Cleanup: Once the cake is sufficiently smashed and the baby is covered in frosting, we move to the vintage-style tub for some bubbly, splashing fun. It’s always the best part of the shoot.
What to Expect
These sessions usually last about 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives us plenty of time for feeding, changing, and soothing—because toddlers have their own schedules, not ours. You might hear me saying, 'Dekh idhar dekh!' (Look here!) to grab their attention, but mostly, I let them lead the way. If they aren't in the mood to touch the cake, we don't force it. We pivot, play, and wait for that genuine smile to come out naturally. It’s never about perfection; it’s about capturing who they are right now.
