About Oil Painting: Rich Textures & Techniques

Oil painting is often seen as intimidating, but the secret lies in the layering process. We focus on teaching you the 'fat-over-lean' rule and how to handle a palette knife to build texture without feeling overwhelmed by the medium. You walk away with two completed A3 canvases after our 18-hour foundation course.

Oil paint is exceptionally forgiving, making it a fantastic choice for both beginners and experienced artists who want to explore color and depth. In our 18-hour foundation course at our Chandapura, Bengaluru studio, we break down this medium into manageable, enjoyable sessions.

What You Will Master

Our approach covers both the subtle and the bold. You will learn:

  • Slow Blending: Perfect for creating the soft, velvety texture seen in realistic floral portraits or skin tones.
  • Palette Knife Techniques: A modern approach that builds thick, expressive layers, adding a mosaic-like energy to landscapes and cityscapes.
  • Color Theory: Understanding how to mix hues directly on your canvas or palette to achieve luminosity.

Practical Details

We believe in small group learning (4-6 students) to ensure you get personalized mentorship during every session. The course is designed to yield two professional A3 artworks that you can proudly display. While we provide the studio easels, drawing boards, and access to our reference library, please note that students receive a curated material list to purchase (approx. ₹1,500–₹2,000 extra). This ensures you have the right brushes and quality oil paints to continue your practice at home. Whether you join us in our peaceful studio or connect for a session, the goal is simple: you leave feeling proud of your work, not stressed by it.
