About Traditional Indian Art Commissions
These traditional commissions require patience. Because they involve intricate line work, stippling, and multiple paint layers, please allow 3 to 6 weeks for execution. Before I pick up the brush, we will discuss your preferred themes—whether it is Krishna Leela, village scenes, or specific deities—and approve a pencil sketch together to ensure the final piece matches your vision.
How We Create Your Traditional Piece
Creating traditional Indian art is a slow, methodical process. I specialize in authentic styles including Kerala Mural, Pichwai, Madhubani, and Pattachitra. Because these forms rely on complex detailing, they cannot be rushed.
The Process:
- Initial Consultation: We start with a virtual discussion to understand your space, the wall dimensions, and the specific mythological or folk theme you have in mind.
- Sketch Approval: Before applying any paint, I create a pencil sketch. You see the composition first, ensuring the figures and borders are exactly as you imagined.
- Execution: I use heavy-duty canvas to support multiple layers of paint, ensuring the final piece is durable and visually rich.
Important Logistics: These works are shipped rolled in heavy-duty PVC or cardboard tubes to ensure they reach you safely. I provide the canvas, but please note that framing is not included; you will need to arrange for local framing once the piece arrives.
Whether you are looking for a massive 6x7 feet centrepiece for your living room or a smaller, intricate panel, I am comfortable scaling these traditional techniques to suit your needs. Every commission is hand-signed and includes a note about the mythology or story depicted, making it a thoughtful addition to your home or a meaningful gift.
