About Abstract & Contemporary Paintings
When I work on these abstract pieces, I prefer using a palette knife rather than just a brush. It allows me to layer oils and acrylics until the texture is exactly right, which gives the painting a three-dimensional quality. This depth makes a huge difference when the light hits the canvas, ensuring the artwork becomes a focal point in a living room or office rather than just background decor.
Abstract art is deeply personal. For me, it is a way to capture feelings, city lights, or the raw energy of nature without being tied to a realistic reproduction. Whether you want a specific color palette to match your sofa or a painting that reflects a memory, I work closely with you to bring that vision onto the canvas.
My Process
I start by understanding where the painting will live. Is it for a quiet study or a vibrant living room? Once we agree on the subject and mood, I prepare the primed cotton canvas. For texture-heavy pieces, I use professional-grade acrylics or oils, applying them with heavy impasto techniques. I typically finish each piece with a high-gloss or matte varnish layer to protect it from dust and UV light.
Customization and Sizes
I am comfortable painting at any scale. While standard sizes range from 18x24 to 30x40 inches, I also specialize in large-scale commissions that can span up to 6x7 feet. If you are looking for a statement piece for a large wall, we can explore single canvases or multi-panel triptych designs.
Care and Logistics
All original paintings are hand-signed and one-of-a-kind. I ship these pieces as rolled canvases in safety tubes to ensure they reach you in perfect condition. Since I am based in Bengaluru, local clients can visit the studio to see the textures firsthand, while clients across India receive regular progress photos during the creation phase. Once you receive your rolled canvas, it will be ready for you to have it stretched and framed by a local professional.
