Traditional Indian Wall Art for Your Home and Pooja Space
Bring India's rich heritage to your walls with authentic, hand-painted murals. From the divine Pichwai of Shrinathji to intricate Pattachitra patterns, I bring the culture of our roots into your living space.
This is a Godna painting, a traditional art form from Chhattisgarh. The intricate patterns and fish motifs are painted in a classic black, white, and red palette, creating a striking and culturally significant piece.
This beautiful mural of Radha and Krishna was painted for a home's pooja corner. I created a serene natural background with a waterfall and peacock to frame the divine couple, making the space feel peaceful and sacred.
Another version of the Radha Krishna mural, this one shows a slightly different pose and composition. The artwork is framed by a painted arch, giving it the feel of a temple niche or a divine window.
This elegant wall art is done in the Pattachitra style, a traditional art form from Odisha. The delicate tree of life pattern with fine leaves and small flowers adds a royal and beautiful touch to the room.
I painted this Lord Shrinathji mural in the traditional Pichwai style. The artwork is rich in detail, from the intricate jewelry and clothing of the deity to the symbolic lotus flowers and cows at the base.
This video shows the process of painting the Lord Shrinathji mural in Panipat. You can see the careful brushwork required to create the detailed ornamentation and the final setup in the pooja space.
About Traditional Indian Wall Art
For these traditional murals, the wall preparation is key. I require a level 5 smooth wall with putty and primer already applied. This allows me to use my size 0 and 00 brushes to capture the fine, intricate lines of Pattachitra or the delicate jewelry in a Pichwai piece without the surface texture getting in the way of the art.
Traditional Indian art is a game of patience and precision. Whether I am painting a Radha Krishna mural in a pooja corner or a Pattachitra tree-of-life, the process begins with a detailed grid-method sketch. This ensures the proportions are perfect before a single drop of paint touches the wall.
I use artist-grade heavy-body acrylics to give the colors depth and long-term vibrancy. For styles like Pichwai, I focus heavily on the ornamentation, spending time on the fine details of Shrinathji's jewelry, clothing, and the symbolic lotus motifs. These pieces are more than just decor; they are a conversation with our culture.
Because this style requires extreme attention to detail, the execution is slower than my other services, typically covering 20 to 30 sq ft per day. I work carefully, layering the paint to ensure the final result is sharp and clean. Once the art is finished, I apply a double coat of UV-resistant varnish to protect the work from fading, ensuring the sacred, peaceful vibe of your space remains intact for years.
