I am Rajesh Sawant, a Nashik-based fine artist. This collection reflects my journey as an educator, my live painting performances, and my tributes to our historical culture.

This is a live chalk art demonstration where I had the honour of creating a large 4x8 ft portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Creating art in front of an audience, especially when paying tribute to our historical figures, is a powerful experience that I cherish. This piece was created using simple chalk on a blackboard, showcasing how impactful art can be with basic materials.

A close-up look at a live landscape painting I created using acrylics on canvas. This demonstration was for the State Level Art Teachers' Art Council in Nandurbar. You can see the process of building layers, creating texture, and playing with light and shadow to bring the scene to life.

Here I am painting on-location at the historic Sarkar Wada in Nashik. This live demonstration captures the process of creating a watercolour landscape, aiming to reflect the architectural beauty and serene atmosphere of the Peshwa-era structure. Plein air painting allows me to connect directly with the subject and its environment.

A truly golden moment in my life, receiving the Krantijyoti Savitrimai Phule State Teacher Award from the Government of Maharashtra. Being recognized as the Best Art Teacher in the state is a profound honour that fuels my passion for sharing the gift of art with others.

This video shows the unveiling of my oil painting of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule at the Mantralay in Mumbai. It was an immense honour to have my work permanently displayed and unveiled by the Hon. Chief Minister Shri Eknathji Shinde and Hon. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Devendraji Fadnavis.

At Niphad English School, I organized a creative activity for students called 'Holi of Bad Things'. The students wrote down negative habits and symbolically burned them, committing to becoming better citizens. Using art and cultural festivals to teach valuable life lessons is a core part of my workshops.

This is a live watercolour painting demonstration at Ramkund, Nashik, a place of immense spiritual significance. My goal was to capture the morning light and the devotion of the people gathered at the ghats. You can see the crowd of onlookers who became part of this artistic experience.

Posing with my completed acrylic landscape after a live demonstration for art teachers at the Art Summit in Nandurbar. It is always a joy to share my techniques and connect with fellow educators who are shaping the next generation of artists.

About Featured

When I perform a live painting session, I view it as a conversation rather than just a performance. I take the time to explain the techniques behind the strokes, whether I am rendering a historical icon or a landscape, ensuring the audience feels connected to the process. You will retain the original 36x48 inch canvas after the 120-minute session, which serves as a lasting tribute for your event.
