Behind the Design: The Process & The Passion
Real interiors aren't made in a clean studio. They are built through dust, noise, and meticulous, hands-on execution. Here is a raw look at how my team and I transform chaotic sites into homes you love.
This is the reality of my work: 90% is the chaos of construction, dust, and hustle. But that final 10%, when the vision comes to life in a beautifully finished space, makes every challenging moment worth it. This video shows the journey from a raw site to a serene, elegant home.
Here is another look at the transformation from chaos to calm. The video starts with a site full of scaffolding and raw materials, then transitions to show the finished, polished commercial spaces. It’s a reminder that every beautiful interior starts as a messy work in progress.
Interior design is hard work, but I am built for the chaos and wired for the beauty. This video captures the reality of my day to day, from coordinating with my team on-site to making countless decisions. Creating spaces isn't just my work, it's who I am.
I often walk onto sites where I am the only woman, in a field largely dominated by men. It has been a journey of proving myself, not with words, but with dedication and an unshakeable vision. This is a glimpse into my world, where I lead my team through the grit to get to the beautiful result.
This is what purpose looks like for me and my team. Here, we are carefully installing a custom backlit wall feature. It’s moments like these, working together with precision and care, that are the foundation of a beautifully executed design.
As a designer, I experience spaces with all my senses. I have to touch every surface to feel its texture, whether it's a rough, lime-washed wall or a smooth fabric. This tactile connection to materials is a crucial part of my creative process.
About Behind the Design: The Process & The Passion
When you walk onto a site with me, you won't see a polished magazine shoot immediately. You’ll see dust, hear drilling, and find me inspecting the tiniest corners of the ceiling. If the finishing is even slightly off, I don’t hide it behind a decorative element—I say 'nikal do' (get it out) and we fix it until it meets my standard. This isn't just construction; it is a commitment to perfection that requires a little chaos before the calm.
The Reality of Renovation
Many people see the glossy final photos of a cafe or a home and assume the process was seamless. It rarely is. My work involves demolition, rewiring, and heavy civil work. Whether I am handling a luxury banquet hall in Mumbai or a cafe in Pune, the process starts with the same level of intensity. We strip the space down, handle the waterproofing, and reinforce the structures before we ever place a piece of furniture.
My Hands-On Approach
I am not a designer who sits behind a desk and sends drawings to a contractor. I am on the floor, checking the grain of the veneer and ensuring the electrical conduits are perfectly aligned. I believe that if I cannot touch it and feel the quality, it is not ready for you. This tactile connection is why I insist on visiting sites daily. I need to ensure that the vision we created on paper is translating accurately into the physical space.
Why The Chaos Matters
That 'chaos'—the noise, the hustle, the team coordinating on site—is where we solve problems before they become permanent mistakes. If a column is in the way or a ceiling height doesn't match the lighting plan, we fix it on the spot. By managing this, I ensure that when we reach the handover stage, you are not dealing with 'after-fixes' or hidden issues. You are getting a space that has been stress-tested and perfected.
I work across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area, Pune, Surat, and Delhi NCR, bringing this same rigor to every project, whether it is a small residential apartment or a large commercial bistro.
