I believe in decoration that feels like nature. From fresh coconut leaf mats woven on-site to garlands made of hand-picked flowers, I use 100% natural materials to bring a traditional touch to your event.

This is where the magic begins. My team and I are weaving fresh coconut leaves to create beautiful, eco-friendly panels for a *chappara*. Every piece is made by hand with great care.

My team weaving mats from fresh coconut leaves. This is a traditional craft that we use to build our authentic *chapparas*. I also teach this technique in my classes.

The process of weaving coconut leaf mats. It requires skill and patience, but the result is a beautiful, natural, and strong material for our decorations.

Adding the finishing touches to a *chappara* pillar. I am attaching a flower made of woven leaves to the intricately patterned pillar.

A beautiful combination of natural elements. Fresh banana leaves form the backdrop for hanging garlands made of jasmine, tuberose, and pink flowers.

Crafting a traditional flower garland. I am arranging lines of red, white, and green flowers to create a beautiful pattern for a door decoration.

Me personally crafting a thick flower garland. I use a wooden frame to ensure the flowers are tightly woven and the design is perfect.

My students learning the art of flower craft. This video shows them making small decorative elements and weaving garlands for a Satyanarayana Swamy pooja backdrop.

About The Art of Natural Decoration

When you see a chappara I build, it is not a readymade frame. My team weaves coconut and palm leaves by hand right at your venue, using real bamboo poles and banana stems. This process takes us 8 to 10 hours, but it creates a traditional, eco-friendly strength and aesthetic you just cannot get from artificial drapes.

My process starts with fresh, natural materials sourced directly from farms. I avoid plastic and fake flowers because I want every event to feel rooted in tradition. Whether it is a housewarming (gruhapravesha) or a wedding mantapa, my team spends hours weaving coconut leaves into intricate checkerboard patterns. We do not use ready-made panels.

The Natural Process

  • Sourcing: I personally check the freshness of the Marigold, Sevanti, and Tuberose (Rajnigandha) flowers. We get them direct from the farm.
  • On-Site Crafting: My team sets up 8 to 10 hours before the event to weave the chappara pillars with green palm leaves, sugarcane, and banana plants.
  • Hand-Crafted Details: I weave thick 'Thomale' garlands using wooden frames to keep them tight, dense, and perfect. These are not loose, store-bought garlands.
  • Eco-Friendly Impact: Everything is biodegradable. We use banana leaves as backdrops and fresh coconut shells for detailing.

People in Bengaluru often ask me about the maintenance of natural decor. Yes, fresh flowers and leaves need care, and weather can affect them, but the divine, earthy fragrance and authentic look they bring to a pooja or wedding are worth it. If you want a setup that looks like a traditional home entrance rather than a corporate stage, this is the way to go. I teach all of these techniques at the CM Event Institute, so you can be sure the work we do on-site is as authentic as the training I provide.

I am Pulsar Sena, and for me, decoration is not just a job; it is a way to keep our traditions alive. I teach my students the same craft I use for my events, because I want to see more people creating beautiful, natural things. If you like the look of fresh leaves and flowers, let us talk about your next event.
