About Pottery Workshops
Why I Do This
Pottery is more than just making things out of clay for us. It’s about connecting with the mitti (earth) and the people who have shaped it for generations. When you join, you’re not just picking up a new hobby, you’re helping keep a beautiful tradition alive in Kumhar Gram, New Delhi.
What Happens Here
- You’ll meet real artisans like Ganu Bhaiya and Karan Bhaiya, who’ve been at the wheel since childhood.
- We start with a quick intro to the space and the people. No fancy studio here, just the real deal - the heart of the community.
- You get your own spot at the pottery wheel. Even if you’ve never touched clay before, we’ll guide you through every step.
- There’s a lot of laughter, some mess, and a lot of mitti ke sang masti (fun with clay).
- You’ll walk away with something you made yourself - maybe a pot, a bowl, or just a funny-shaped memory.
Who Shows Up
- Anyone who wants to try something new - total beginners, groups of friends, or teams looking for a break from the usual.
- If you want a real community pottery class, not just a “classroom” vibe, this is it.
It’s not perfect - it’s a bit raw, sometimes noisy, but always real. If you want to learn pottery from artisans and see what traditional pottery making feels like, come spend an afternoon with us.

My Story
We’re JanBhoomi, born out of Enactus Kirori Mal College, 2018. Jan-Bhoomi means ‘the earth for its people’ - and we live by that. Our journey started with seeing land and water suffer, and led us to Kumhar Gram, Delhi. The potters there, masters of mitti (earth), told us, ‘1984 me ye colony bani hai. Yaha koi nahi tha, kheti hoti thi.’ Their struggles hit us hard. Now, we work with them, fighting waste and uplifting their craft for a greener tomorrow.
My Work
Terracotta Home Composters & Gardening Toolkits - We offer terracotta home composters and a handcrafted gardening toolkit for urban homes.
Temple Flower Compost & Organic Solutions - Our temple flower compost and organic mixes feed the soil, not chemicals. Good for gardens, safe for earth.
Artisan Pottery & Workshops - We run pottery workshops and sell artisan-made goods, giving potters a fair shot against factory stuff.
Spreading Green Awareness - We do campus ‘trash talks’ and hands-on workshops to get folks on the green path, together.
