Born from Enactus Kirori Mal College, our initiative merges traditional terracotta craftsmanship with urban waste solutions to support marginalized artisan communities.

This collage shows the journey of Project JanBhoomi, from initial visits to the Potter's Colony to prototyping and standing with the community and the final product. It represents months of research and collaboration.

The inception of our idea. We wanted to find a practical solution for urban households to compost their daily biodegradable waste, which led us to the concept of the terracotta home composter.

Our process began with a needs assessment and material testing, which confirmed terracotta as the ideal choice. This led us to the Potter's Colony, where we found our artisan partners.

We moved into a prototyping and testing phase, working closely with the community to create the first batch of compost. This rigorous process also included developing our market strategy and instruction manuals.

We partner with the local potter community to address the economic struggles they face. By creating a new market for their traditional skills, our project provides a vital source of income.

The rise of mass-produced pottery has made it difficult for traditional potters to compete. Our initiative champions the value and beauty of handmade goods over cheap, mechanized products.

The pottery industry is a largely unorganized sector, leaving artisans without access to funding or marketing. We help bridge this gap by providing a platform and a sustainable business model.

The COVID-19 pandemic severely disrupted the supply chain and demand for traditional crafts. Our project aims to help the community recover by creating new opportunities in a post-pandemic world.

Every product you purchase is handcrafted by a community of skilled potters. By choosing our composters, you help us benefit a marginalized community and preserve a traditional art form.

This explains our role in the partnership. After on-ground visits, we decided to become part of the solution, creating an additional source of income that uplifts the potters' livelihood.

About Our Story: Purpose-Driven Pottery

Every terracotta composter you see here began as a tangible solution for urban waste management. We spent months working directly in Kumhar Gram, collaborating with local artisans like Ganu Bhaiya to move away from machine-made, mass-produced pottery. When you choose these pieces, you are investing in a sustainable cycle that puts income directly back into the hands of traditional pottery families who are otherwise struggling to compete in today's market.
