About Featured
Our workshops are not in a polished, climate-controlled studio. We host these sessions right where the craft lives, in the open-air potter's colony of Uttam Nagar. It is a rustic, raw experience where you learn wheel throwing directly from master artisans. You will take your creation home in an unfired, raw state, so please bring a box or safe container for your finished piece.
When you join a session, you are stepping into a community, not a classroom. We believe in transparency, so expect a setting that is loud, messy, and real. You will work alongside artisans like Karan Bhaiya, who have been at the wheel since childhood. We provide the clay and the guidance, and you bring the curiosity.
Why do we do this in a working colony? Because this traditional craft is under pressure from mass-produced factory items. By coming here, you see exactly how the community lives, hear the history of the colony from those who built it, and contribute directly to their livelihood. This is about preserving a legacy that dates back decades in Delhi.
What you get is a 90 to 120-minute immersive lesson. We cover everything from clay preparation to centering the wheel. You will create 1 to 2 items of your own. While we provide basic amenities like water and chai, remember that this is an authentic workspace. It is a chance to get your hands dirty, learn the history of mitti (earth), and leave with a much deeper appreciation for the people behind the pottery.
