Our Montessori Guides: Child-Centric Mentors in Bengaluru
Meet the people who walk alongside your child. At Prayag, we are trained child development experts—mentors who observe, facilitate, and nurture, ensuring your child learns at their own pace.
What makes a Montessori Guide? It starts with our dedicated and passionate team, pictured here, who are all committed to nurturing your child's growth.
So, what really happens in a Montessori House of Children? Here you see children deeply engaged in their work, a testament to an environment where they are guided to explore their own interests.
A Montessori Guide is more than a teacher. They are a trained expert whose every action is intentional, supporting each child's unique growth through careful observation and purposeful interaction.
Our guides use a structured, hands-on curriculum where children learn through direct experience. This image shows a guide presenting a lesson to a small group, a common sight in our classrooms.
Observation is a critical skill for our guides. They are trained to observe with objectivity, assessing each child's unique progress to tailor their approach and support individual learning needs.
Our guides help children make discoveries through hands-on experiences. Instead of worksheets, they introduce concrete materials like the Binomial cube for Algebra, allowing children to physically build knowledge.
A guide supports each child in moving through the curriculum at their own pace. If a child isn't ready for a concept, the guide observes, takes note, and reintroduces it when the time is right.
About this collection
When you walk into our classrooms, you won't see a teacher lecturing from the front. Instead, you will see a guide kneeling at a child's eye level, observing them work with materials like the Binomial cube or golden beads. We are trained to step back, letting your child discover concepts on their own, only intervening to gently offer a new challenge or support a moment of frustration. It is a deliberate shift that fosters true independence, allowing your child to build confidence through their own hands-on achievements.
Why We Are 'Guides,' Not Teachers
In a traditional classroom, the teacher is the source of knowledge. In our Montessori environment, our role is to act as the link between the child and the prepared environment. We are trained to recognize your child's 'sensitive periods'—those fleeting windows of time where they are naturally driven to learn specific skills, like language or order.
The Art of Observation
Our primary work is observation. We watch with objectivity, not judgment. By tracking how a child interacts with our materials, we can determine when to introduce a new task or when to give them space to master a skill. This allows for genuine, individualized growth rather than a 'one-size-fits-all' curriculum.
Supporting Your Child's Journey
Whether at our campus in JP Nagar, Jayanagar, or Padmanabhanagar, our goal is the same: to foster a love for learning that lasts a lifetime. We don't rush through milestones. If a child is focused on an activity, we let them reach their own conclusion. This builds deep concentration and self-discipline.
How We Work With Parents
We know that education doesn't stop at our gate. We view parents as our partners. Through our parent orientations and workshops, we help you understand the 'why' behind our methods, offering practical, home-based strategies to reinforce the independence we see in the classroom. When home and school work in sync, your child thrives, feeling supported, understood, and truly capable.
