Unique Sculptural Installations and Exhibition Pieces
These works represent my ongoing experiments with light, shadow, and the liminal spaces between objects. Beyond my primary series, these pieces explore how different materials interact with their environment.
This installation, titled 'Shadow Lines', is an experiment with light, line, and perception. The hanging screen of symbols casts intricate shadows, creating a layered visual experience that blurs the line between the object and its ethereal projection.
About Additional Works & Exhibitions
The piece you see here, 'Shadow Lines', is a quiet exploration of how light changes our perception of physical objects. Unlike my larger marble or cellulose works, these exhibition pieces are often about creating a transient atmosphere. They do not just occupy space; they actively alter the shadows and light in a room, making the installation feel like a living participant in your environment.
My practice is not confined to one medium. While I am often known for my marble or cellulose installations, I frequently step outside those boundaries to experiment with light, kinetic forms, and mixed media. These exhibition works serve as a dialogue between the art and the architecture surrounding it.
When I approach a site-specific installation, I look for the hidden geometry of the space. Whether it is a private home or a corporate atrium, the goal is to create a piece that feels like it belongs. We often use steel armatures and light-sensitive materials to ensure the work remains structurally sound while appearing delicate.
If you are planning an installation for your own space, we can start by looking at these experiments. We will map the natural light and the structural flow of your area to determine which materials—marble, steel, or organic fibers—will resonate best with your surroundings. Everything is handmade in my Jaipur studio, ensuring that each project is as considered as these exhibition works.
Prashant Pandey
I see my studio in Jaipur as a space for both creation and conversation. When I am not working on large commissions, I am usually experimenting with new ways to capture light or manipulate discarded materials to tell a fresh story.
