Artist Talks and Media Features
Go behind the scenes of my sculptural practice. I share stories from my talks, lectures, and media features where we discuss the transformation of waste into art.
In conversation with a visitor at the India Art Fair in front of my 'Biography' installation. These interactions are invaluable, as they allow me to share the story of the work directly and hear people's personal responses.
With a guest at my booth during the India Art Fair. Exhibitions are not just about showing the work, but about building connections and engaging in conversations about art, sustainability, and the ideas that drive us.
A video from my artist walkthrough at Gallery Maskara for the 'Biography' show. It was a privilege to guide a full house through the exhibition, explaining the five-year journey and the transformation of waste into art.
I was honored to be featured in Garland Magazine, which recognized my work for "monumentalising the breath of time." In the interview, I discuss the rhythm of my studio and the concept of each cigarette butt as a carrier of a human moment.
Returning to my alma mater, MSU Baroda, to give a presentation to the fine arts students was a full-circle moment. I shared my journey and spoke about balancing traditional techniques with a contemporary art practice.
This video captures moments from my 'Expert Talk' at Parul University. I had an engaging discussion with students about my process, from creating sculptures with cigarette butts to the Ram Darbar project in Ayodhya.
About Conversations & Press
Every sculpture I make is just the beginning of a conversation. Whether I’m speaking to fine arts students at MSU Baroda or walking visitors through an exhibition at the India Art Fair, I find that sharing the reasoning behind my work is as vital as the carving itself. If you are curious about the five-year journey behind a piece or how I approach site-specific commissions, let’s talk.
The Philosophy of Sharing
For me, an artwork does not end when the final piece is finished. It continues to live through the dialogues it sparks. My practice—which often involves using discarded marble chips from Jaipur or recycled cigarette filters—is deeply tied to storytelling. These talks and press features are opportunities to demystify the process and share the 'traces of breath' each material carries.

Why Engage in Dialogue?
Many clients ask me if I offer artist talks or private viewings for their collection. I believe that understanding the origin of a sculpture changes how you live with it. Whether you are looking for a public installation or a piece for your home, having a shared understanding of the work’s narrative makes the transformation process more meaningful.
If you’re interested in an artist talk for a corporate event, a lecture at your institution, or want to understand the deeper story behind my commissions, I am always open to a conversation.
Prashant Pandey
I am a sculptor based in Jaipur, transforming what the world sees as waste into stories of resilience. My work is a meditation on origins, using everything from marble blast stones to cigarette filters to create pieces that challenge how we see value.
