Site-Specific Sculptural Installations
I design sculptures that respond to the architecture of your home, ensuring the art and the space enrich one another.
This is a bespoke installation in a private residence in Pune, created from cigarette butts and cane. The sculpture cascades down a spiral staircase, becoming an integral part of the home's architecture and daily flow of life.
A close-up detail of the Pune installation. The texture of the woven cigarette butts catches the natural light from the large windows, creating a warm, organic feel that contrasts with the modern interior.

About Site-Specific Installations: Art in Dialogue with Space
When planning a piece for a room, I observe how natural light travels across the walls. For the Pune installation shown here, the texture of the woven cigarette butts changes from solid to translucent as the sun moves, meaning the sculpture feels different in the morning than it does in the evening.
Working on site-specific commissions requires a dialogue between my studio in Jaipur and the environment where the piece will live. I start by mapping the architectural volume, whether it is a sweeping spiral staircase or a quiet lobby, to ensure the scale is right.
The process involves more than just design. I consider how the work integrates with the structural realities of the building, such as the use of aviation-grade stainless steel cables for vertical drops or reinforced anchors for ceiling mounts. Every installation is a result of collaboration. You are involved in the process, from selecting the concept to understanding the maintenance needs, such as the occasional use of an air blower to keep the work pristine.
I work with materials that have their own history. Whether it is marble chips or discarded filters, the goal is to create something that feels like it belongs in the space, rather than just an object placed within it. If you have an empty wall or a vertical void, let us talk about how we can fill it with a story.
