About Sparring (Kyorugi): The Fight for Gold
You will notice our sparring matches are not just about throwing random kicks; we focus heavily on distance management and ring craft. When you join our advanced squad, we do not just put you in gear. We analyze your footwork, correct your blocking patterns, and build the specific endurance needed for 90-minute competitive sessions. Whether you are aiming for your first district selection or targeting the Khelo India Games, your training will be tailored to the specific weight category and rules of the tournament you are entering.
Training for the Ring
At Prahar Taekwondo Academy, Kyorugi is the ultimate test of everything you learn in class. While form is important, sparring is where you apply it under pressure. We follow World Taekwondo Federation standards, ensuring our fighters are ready for the intensity of official championships.
Our Approach to Sparring
- Technical Precision: We don't believe in swinging wildly. Every move, from the roundhouse to the bicycle kick, is drilled until it becomes instinct. You will learn to control the distance, manage your energy, and counter-attack with speed.
- Tournament Simulation: We recreate the pressure of the ring in our training hall. Using chest guards (Hogu) and head protectors, we run drills that mimic real match scenarios, helping you handle the adrenaline of a state-level championship.
- Weight & Strategy: Competition requires more than just technique. We provide guidance on weight management and ring strategy, teaching you how to analyze your opponent and play to your strengths.
Why Compete with Team Prahar?
