About Competition Sparring: In the Arena
Sparring is not just about throwing kicks; it is about reading your opponent. In the arena, we drill high-speed reaction time, managing the point-scoring system, and controlling the match pace. You will learn to handle the pressure of the buzzer, maintain distance, and land the clean headshots that change the scoreboard.
What Happens in the Arena
Competitive Taekwondo (Kyorugi) is a game of chess played at high speed. When you join our sparring sessions in Burari, you are not just exercising; you are learning how to fight.
Training Strategy
We break down complex movements into manageable drills. We work on:
- Reaction Drills: Improving how quickly you switch from defense to counter-attack.
- Point Control: Understanding how to land valid kicks to the torso and head to satisfy competition judges.
- Mental Conditioning: Staying calm when the buzzer sounds and the intensity spikes.
Competition Prep
We don't just train for fun. My goal is to get you ready for the mat at CBSE, SGFI, and Khelo India events. We simulate match conditions with full safety protocols, so when you step into the real tournament, it feels like a familiar environment.
Practical Notes
Sparring is intense, and safety is our priority. While we provide the environment, remember that standard club fees cover group instruction. As you advance toward inter-district or national representation, you will need to invest in personal sparring gear like chest and head guards, which are not included in the basic tuition. We will guide you on what to buy so you aren't wasting money on gear that isn't regulation-ready. Whether you are a beginner or looking to sharpen your competition game, come ready to sweat.
