Creative Pet Campaigns and Fundraising Photography
Photography can change how we see shelter animals. By styling our rescues as sitcom stars or newborns, I help NGOs raise funds, share stories, and get streeties noticed.
This is a teaser for the "PETFLIX" themed 2024 calendar I shot for CARE. We reimagined popular shows with shelter animals as the stars, like this "Barkos" concept, to create a fun and engaging way to raise funds for the rescue center.
A series of outtakes from the "Boney Heist" calendar shoot. This dog was a fantastic model, giving us a whole range of expressions from serious and thoughtful to happy and goofy, all while rocking the red hoodie.

The January photo from a calendar featuring baby animals styled like newborns. This little indie puppy posing with a crocheted doll was the perfect start to the year, showcasing the innocence and sweetness of rescued animals.
About Creative Campaigns for a Cause
These shoots require a unique mix of patience and theatrics. Whether we are recreating TV show posters for a calendar or styling rescues as newborns, the priority is always the animal's comfort over the shot. If you are an NGO or shelter looking to build a fundraising campaign, we start by mapping out a concept that tells your rescue's specific story, ensuring the photos do the heavy lifting in finding them forever homes.
Every shelter animal has a personality that, if captured correctly, can connect with potential adopters or donors. My work in creative campaigns is rooted in the belief that we need to stop looking at rescues through a lens of pity and start looking at them as characters with unique stories.
The Process: Beyond the Portrait
Creative direction is the backbone of these projects. When I worked on the 'PETFLIX' calendar for CARE, we didn't just take pictures of dogs. We built a 'Barkos' concept, complete with props and themes that reimagined shelter dogs as stars of popular shows. This approach accomplishes two things: it makes the content shareable on social media, and it stops people from scrolling past a standard, sad shelter photo.
Specialized Campaigns for Shelters
I offer specific project packages for NGOs, covering everything from the concept stage to the final print-ready files.
- Conceptual Shoots: Whether it is a 'Newborn' series for baby animals or a seasonal theme, I handle the styling and production.
- Fundraising Assets: The deliverables are optimized for merchandise like calendars, mugs, and totes, ensuring your NGO can generate revenue from the prints.
- Technical Handling: We use longer durations for these shoots to desensitize shy or nervous animals to the equipment, ensuring we get the perfect shot without causing any stress.
My goal is to give you a library of images that you can use across your social media and marketing materials for the entire year, helping your shelter build a consistent, engaging presence that actually converts interest into adoptions.
