About Creative & Experimental Portraits
I don't just point a camera and click. For these shots, I use specific lighting setups like colored gels to shift the mood from a soft look to something dramatic and cinematic. Whether you want that sharp 'boss babe' aesthetic or an artistic collage, the focus is on bringing out a side of your personality that standard portrait sessions usually miss.
Precision in every shot
Coming from an engineering background, I look at photography through the lens of physics. Light placement, color temperature, and shadow density are variables I manipulate to create a specific narrative. When we plan an experimental shoot, we are not just taking photos; we are constructing a look.
The creative process
For the portraits you see here, we often use a mix of techniques:
- Colored Gels: This is how we get those vibrant red, green, and blue hues that turn a simple studio shot into something high-fashion.
- High-Key Lighting: When the goal is a clean, corporate, or 'boss' look, we shift to flat, high-intensity lighting that removes shadows and emphasizes the subject's confidence.
- Frequency Separation: This is my go-to for skin retouching. It allows me to smooth out texture without making the skin look fake or plasticky, keeping it real while making it look polished.
Where we shoot
While I am based in Bengaluru, I frequently travel for shoots in Kundapura and Shivamogga. Whether you are a model building a portfolio, a corporate professional needing a strong brand image, or an artist looking to experiment with a new visual style, I have the gear and the experience to match your vision. We start with a conversation about what you need, build a mood board, and then execute it with precision.
