About Dreamy Outdoor Sessions
Outdoor maternity shoots are entirely dependent on the light. I schedule these sessions strictly during the golden hour to capture that soft, warm glow that makes every frame feel painterly. Since we will be working with the terrain, I recommend comfortable footwear for the walk to our chosen location, even if you are wearing a gown. Because these spots are public or semi-private, we often work around the natural movement of the day, which keeps the shots feeling candid rather than posed.
Choosing to step out of the studio means embracing the unpredictability and raw beauty of nature. My outdoor maternity sessions are designed to move away from rigid posing. Instead, we chase the light. Whether it is a quiet, tree-lined path or the open expanse of a lakeside at sunset, the environment becomes a participant in your story.
Because my work is defined by a painterly, vintage-inspired style, I am very intentional about timing. We will plan our shoot for the golden hour, when the harsh sun softens and the light becomes gold. This is when the skin glows and the mood shifts into something serene.
