Baking Business Lessons from a Delhi Bakery Owner

I’m not here to teach, just to share what I’ve learned the hard way. Building a business is chaotic, and often, the most valuable lessons come from the mistakes we make behind the counter.

I didn't have a mentor when I started Pink Box. I want to be that person for someone else. I'm starting a new series to share the real lessons of building a business, hoping it can help someone avoid a mistake or feel less alone.

We recently had to remove the "100% Eggless" tag from our branding, not because our recipe changed, but because the law did. FSSAI regulations no longer permit claims like "100%" without scientific proof. It's a small but important lesson in compliance.

About My Business & Baking Lessons

When I had to scrub "100% Eggless" from all our packaging overnight, it wasn't because our recipe changed. It was a compliance reality check from FSSAI. If you're a foodpreneur, don't ignore the legal fine print just because you're busy baking—it will catch up to you.

Nobody tells you about the days when staff walk out, when a customer gets angry, or how lonely it gets when you are trying to scale but have nobody to call for advice. I started Pink Box in 2013 without a mentor, and I spent years figuring things out through trial and error.

The Reality of Food Business

This cluster isn't a masterclass; it's just a raw look at what I've learned while running a bakery in Delhi. Whether it’s navigating complex FSSAI compliance—like the shift away from "100%" claims—or just managing the daily chaos of a café, I want to pass on what I know.

Why I Share These Lessons

I’m not an expert, bas help karne ke liye (just to help). I believe that if one of these videos saves you a mistake, a stressful day, or a bad decision, it’s worth it.

Common things we chat about:

  • Compliance & Packaging: Understanding what you can and can't legally claim on your food labels.
  • The Emotional Side: Dealing with the loneliness of being a founder.
  • Problem Solving: What to do when orders go wrong or customers aren't happy.

If you're starting out or currently struggling to grow, watch these videos. You'll see that it's rarely as perfect as Instagram makes it look, and you are definitely not alone in the chaos.

I’m Aman. I didn’t grow up with a mentor, so I’m building Pink Box through a mix of instinct, trial, and error. These videos aren't polished masterclasses; they are just honest conversations about what it actually takes to run a bakery in Delhi.
