About Milestone Moments: The In-Between Months
These shoots are not about keeping your baby perfectly still, because that is impossible at this age. I come to your home, set up a simple, clean background, and then we just play. Whether your little one is feeling curious, cranky, or just plain hilarious, we keep the session relaxed so those real expressions—the ones you actually want to remember—can surface without the pressure of rigid posing.
The first year is a blur of rapid changes. One month you are holding a tiny newborn, and in the blink of an eye, they are sitting up, grabbing their toes, and trying to crawl across the living room floor. I created these milestone sessions for those specific stages—typically around 3, 6, and 9 months—to document the growth that happens in the quiet moments between the big celebrations.
My approach is to keep things natural. I bring the studio to your house, which means your baby stays in their safe, familiar environment. This is vital because a comfortable baby is a happy baby, and we want to capture their authentic personality, not a forced smile. I provide milestone discs, textured blankets, and simple props that add a layer of detail without distracting from your child.
However, this is very much a team effort. If your baby needs a break, a feed, or a quick cuddle, we stop. My milestone photography sessions are structured around your baby’s mood and rhythm. We might spend some time with the wooden milestone markers, but we will also spend time simply playing on the floor or the bed. The goal is to walk away with a collection of images that feel like a snapshot of who they were at that exact moment in time—the chunky legs, the first attempts at sitting, and those fleeting, wide-eyed expressions that you will want to look back on years from now.
